Latest Party

About a week ago I helped a group of friends throw a surprise anniversary present for a very good friend of ours. We each helped out with the catering and the planning. My contribution was some baked goods and tags for the food.

The colour scheme was purple and silver so of course my tags had to match and I even made the cupcakes match.

Take a look at what I did:
My favourite thing I did for the party was add a little purple diamante stud to each ice cream spoon. I really thought it added a bit of glamour :)
I think I'll be using that idea again for other parties.

Business Fair 2012

So the business fair went pretty well and I hope it will lead to lots of customers.

When I first signed up for the fair I wasn't quite sure what I would have on my table as I didn't really have anything to sell except my ideas (and some handmade cards). So after a lot of thought I decided the best way to advertise myself would be to set up a mock party.

I chose to do an Art Themed Party:
I really felt that this was a great theme to use as it was fun, colourful and suitable for boys or girls.

I really believe that setting up the party for my table worked out really well.
Here is a look at my table:
My favourite parts of the table were the cute little easels I had and the "paint palate".
I also had handmade cards on the table for people to look at.

Sneak peak of the business fair

Tomorrow I have a table at a business fair at our local mall. I have been working for a long time on what I will have on my table in order to advertise my Party Planning business.

Here is a sneak peak of a few things that will be on my table:
I am really looking forward to this fair and can't wait to see what comes from it.

Date Box: April's Date

This months clue:
The letter I gave to my husband:
So the date was meant to be a "romantic" dinner out at some beautiful restaurant, with just the two of us.
In reality the date was in the morning at one of our local coffee shops and our youngest child came along for the date too. But none of that mattered, it was still a great date and we still had an great time together.
The truth is, is that no matter how we spend our time together, we are just happy to be together!!!!

We shared a delicious breakfast:
(one of our favourites)

Total love:

Date Box: March's Date

This Months Clue:
And Letter that I gave to my husband:
This date was a very simple date!!!! Since we had gone away to South Africa and we only had about a week before Pesach I decided it would be a good time to make some popcorn (something we can't have during Pesach), bring out some South African chocolate (which of course we brought back with us) and get a movie that we hadn't seen yet (The Smurfs :) )

It was a very chilled date and we thoroughly enjoyed the movie!!!!!

Whats been happening!!!

I know, I know I seemed to have disappeared again, but I promise that is not the case. Things have just been so crazy around here at the moment. But of course it is all exciting crazy. At the moment I am trying to get my party planning business of the ground and I am preparing for a business fair which is less than a month away.

I am also working with a friend to put together a crafting summer camp, which we are both very excited about.

And lets not forget I am still teaching.

So unfortunately I am not posting about any parties or crafts I have done, but I am just letting you know that I am still around and will be sharing a lot more with you, PG, in the very near future.

Yom Ha'atzmaut 2012

Today we celebrated Israel's 64th Birthday (Israel's Independence Day). Yom Ha'atzmaut is such a wonderful day and it makes me so proud to be living in such a wonderful, beautiful country.
For weeks before the day the whole of Israel starts to get in the spirit of things. There are Israeli flags hanging everywhere and everyone feels a great pride for this country.
I must admit this year I went pretty crazy with all the Israeli flag decor.
We also hang up a beautiful handmade flag (which my husband has had for 11 years) on our roof. And we even decorated our car:
My family and I had a great time celebrating. Last night we went to the celebrations that our city had. It was a really good celebrating and we thoroughly enjoyed watching the fireworks.
Today we went with some friends to a tank museum and then we had a braai (barbeque) at home.
I think I might have gone a bit crazy again with all the blue and white (and Israeli flag) decor.
I also made my cupcakes blue and white:
And I had blue and white marshmallows:

Happy 64th Birthday Israel!!! Am Yisrael Chai!!!
