BUSY BUSY BUSY

Wow I can't believe it's been so long since I last posted. Things have just been crazy hectic. I have started teaching again and I feel like all I have been doing is prep, teach, prep, teach........

But it has been so good to get back into teaching and I am really enjoying how creative I can be with the lessons.

Now that I am getting into the swing of things and the prep is getting easier I will be going back to more crafting, so stay tuned for more creativity!!!

Purim is a month away

Has anyone started thinking about what they going to be doing for Purim this year? I have started thinking about it but not in to much detail yet. What I want to do in this post is share last years Purim with you.

So our theme last year was Pirates. Take a look at what I did for it:

These are the mishloach manot treasure chests I made:
My husband and I also made our own hamantaschen, which we thought sort of looked like pirate hats:
And of course what is Purim without the fun costumes:
I also entered a competition @ http://craftingjewishstyle.blogspot.com/2011/04/crafting-jewish-style-purim.html, where I came second for my entry :)
I sent in pictures of our costumes and mishloach manot as well as this cute tag book I made:
Hope you enjoyed my post and are a litte bit more inspired for this years Purim.

Date Box: January's date

This Months Clue:
And Letter that I gave to my husband:
Thank goodness I had planned a stay at home date for January because we landed up having the date during one of the coldest weekends we have had so far. Seriously it was fffffrrrrrreeeeezzzzzzzzing!!!!

But never the less we had an amazing night, it really was fun just to play games and spend some time together.

Originally the plan was to have a game marathon but we landed up playing only one of the games.
It turned out to be a very fun night while I slowly took over the world (hahahahaha)

Peter Pan Themed 30th Birthday Party

I really wanted to do something totally different for my 30th Birthday Party and it took me months to settle on a theme. I tried at least five themes before settling on this one: Peter Pan finding Neverland!!!!

The reason I decided on this is because I wanted something fun and exciting that would remind us of our childhoods. It was really a fun party to put together and I think all the quests had a great time.

Here is what I did:

On the front door I had this note so the guests would know what they were stepping into.

And here is how I decorated my tables:
And I decided to have all sorts of sweets from my childhood (which was a little bit difficult to do since I now live in a different country to the one I grew up in, but I did my best)
And as you can see I had quotes from Peter Pan as well as framed shadows all around.
And what would one of my parties be if I didn't have some of my famous biscuits and other baked goods??
So there were also some very yummy (and I mean very yummy) things made for me by some very good friends.
There was a very yummy milktart, which is a very South African dessert which is defiantly a childhood favourite of mine. There was also these very yummy and delicious mini pavlovas.

Now take a look at my drinks table:

And I also had a fun "photo booth" corner:
I had an amazing 30th Birthday Party and I really felt like a child still. I am really looking forward to being "a child" in my thirties.
